I have something to say
But I cannot speak
My soul is forever silenced
I cannot hear it speak
It was once alive and loud
But now-

I can hear sounds, but I think they're cries

Let your voice be heard!" I cry
But still-
I cannot hear it speak
I listen for a happy sound
But-
I cannot hear it speak
"Listen fir any word," I was once told
I listened
I could hear it speak
Through the cries
To me, it said, "Help, I need help"
I could hear it speak
These words I did not want to hear
But at least
I could hear it speak
It was talking all along
But I didn't listen for these words
So-
I could not hear it speak
But now I listen carefully to every word it says
And every sound it makes
I can hear it speak
