The sun is setting in the sky
To this day, I say goodbye
The sky of pink, orange and blue
The day isn't done until it's shown this picture to you
The sun will be gone soon
Here comes the moon
And the sparkling stars that shine bright
To light up the night
The silken sky seems so silent
Yet so calm
We stare up at the stars
But not for too long
Soon the sun will rise
And add some life to the silent skies
Steal the spotlight from the night
Making it happy, playful and bright
Now we open our eyes
And crawl out of our beds
Not giving a single thought
To what's above our heads
Ignoring the stars
Which lit up our night
Neglecting the sun
That makes our days so bright
If only we took one second
To look up at our skies
To show appreciation
For the gift to our eyes
